Throwback Thursday: Souvenirs

My grandparents went to Disney at all I got was this stupid shirt. The look on Ted's face says it all.

Luckily Aunt Barb and Uncle Jack took pity on us and made sure we made it to Disneyland while we visited them. And Josie has been fortunate to visit Disney World twice already, with another trip in discussions.

Sleeping Beauty

We found her sound asleep like this one night. So innocent. So cute. Such a diva!

Shopping List

Our shopping list has changed a bit since adding a kitten as the fourth member to our family. In particular our need for toilet paper has increased drastically. I wonder why.....

Caught in the act!

Barbie Brothel

This is what I find in my bathroom after Josie uses our tub.

At a quick glance it looks like a bunch of Barbies on the edge of the tub. Fairly innocent.

When looking closer you realize that one of the Barbies is only wearing her frilly tutu and has her chest exposed for the whole world to see. Classy.

Looking even closer reveals Ken in his little swim trunks hanging in the back like he's waiting for all of them to get naked. Like he can't wait to show off his big plastic parts. Luckily Cinderella and Dancer Barbie have their outfits permanently secured.

Moving to the other side of the tub reveals a totally naked Barbie, a mermaid and a scantily clad Barbie. I think the pink outfit is supposed to be a skating dress but I beg to differ. This is also the Barbie who "decided she wanted color in her hair" from the lying incident I recently shared. Seeing the outfits this chick wears makes me think Josie might have been right about her.....

Are they real?

At Christmas Josie was asking if Santa was real. She was hearing things at school and didn't know what to believe. In the end she still wanted to believe what was in her heart.

Yesterday she lost a tooth and started questioning the Tooth Fairy. I told her that it was like Santa- she should believe what was in her heart. Before bed she set out her tooth and made a little fort to protect it from the kitty. (Imagine me, I mean the Tooth Fairy, crawling around in the dark looking for a stupid little tooth!)

The Tooth Fairy was tired after a long day of spring cleaning and tried to make her visit at 10:30 last night. Imagine my, I mean her surprise when Josie opened her eyes. A quick coverup story about wanting to bring kitty to my bed seemed to work (mostly because I do actually try to steal the cat every night).

An alarm set for 1:30 am seemed to do the trick. Josie woke up excited to find a gold coin and I woke up no more tired than normal. I consider it a win!

Throwback Thursday: Stars

Today is a special friend's birthday. I wish she were here on earth so I could wish her a happy birthday in person. And hug her. And hear that laugh. I miss that laugh.

Josie has been asking more about heaven and who we know up there. She's also interested in how we can "see" them after they're gone. Our conversations have been best summed up by this:

Then again, talking about stars and heaven also reminds me of this little gem from 1994.

Pumbaa:
Timon, ever wonder what those sparkly dots are up there?

Timon:
Pumbaa, I don't wonder; I know.

Pumbaa:
Oh. What are they?

Timon:
They're fireflies. Fireflies that, uh... got stuck up on that big bluish-black thing.

Pumbaa:
Oh, gee. I always thought they were balls of gas burning billions of miles away.

Timon:
Pumbaa, with you, everything's gas.

Great movie but the songs from The Lion King will always remind me of marching band. And that's a topic for another Thursday!

Happy birthday Phyllis. I miss you. We all miss you.
