Oh hoppy day!

While Josie may have been a bit disappointed that she couldn't find any eggs right away this morning (he naturally had to wait and hide them when the family was around and daddy had woken up after the night shift) but was eventually rewarded for her patience.

Happy Easter!

She's been wanting this forever!

Goodbye winter!

We've officially broken out the bike and rain boots so no more snow is allowed!

Hippity Hoppity

Here comes Easter!

Still not sure how Mr. Easter Bunny is going to hide eggs out in the snow....but we're ready for him.

We decided to use Kool Aid to color the eggs this year. Smells good!

Time for egg number one!

Now the rest.

Special delivery!

Don't you just love finding an unexpected delivery left on your front step? The suspense! The excitement! The wonder!

Then you open it to find a 24 hour urine collection kit and realize its your kidney stone coming back to haunt you.

I'll stick with Amazon packages from now on.

Needs vs. Wants

Turns out that ice cream and self tanner are wants. Drugs, food and clothes are needs. I'd agree with that!

Apparently someone has seen a little too much prescription drug use in our house lately.

Dang, its cold in here and I gotta warm up

Its not uncommon to find cats curled up in strange places. In fact, I believe I've shared some examples on this very blog. But this winter Figgy has taken strange to a whole different level. I now present to you:

"Dang, its cold in here and I gotta warm up"
by Figgy

Act One- the warming tent

Almost daily we find the cat nestled in by the heat register with the curtain acting as a tent to trap the warm air. It looks a little something like this.

Act Two- utter disgust

When you pull back the curtain you get a nasty look.

And the warm air escapes so the warming tent becomes just another curtain.

Act Three- time for TV

She will then seek out the cable box as it gives off a little warmth. Its definitely not warming tent warmth, but it will do in a pinch.

Act Four- back to the tent

Best laid plans

The best laid plans of mice Brent and men Heather often go astray.

Plan for the weekend: enjoy time at the Dells with some good friends.

Step 1: travel to Wisconsin Dells. Check

Step 2: check in to swanky digs. Check

Step 3: settle in, begin to unwind, snack and drink. Check

Step 4: take the kids swimming. Check

Step 5: return to swanky digs, mix up some appetizers and enjoy the first night. Sorta check

This is where it all goes downhill.....

Step 6: measure Josie's temperature. Check

Step 7: lay with her in bed while she moans and complains about her head, throat, ears, and tummy. Check

Step 8: clean up Josie's vomit. Check

Step 9: pack up and head home first thing Saturday morning. Check

Step 10: visit the doctor. Check

Step 11: pick up antibiotics for ear infection. Check

Step 12: purchase plastic bubble for Josie and begin planning next year's trip. Check

Things I don't need to see

Nothing like opening up an e-mail to see this:
Leaps and Bounds

You're welcome. Now you've seen it too. I'm good at sharing like that.

With a bad cold taking me down this week I may be interested in this nifty little item. What are the odds that Brent would assist me? Maybe I should just stick with Kleenex.

M-I-N-N-E-S-O-T-A

If you know us you know that our TV is tuned in to Gopher hockey every Friday and Saturday night from November through March.  Josie is usually a good sport about watching hockey and she's even gotten to name a few of her favorite players and understands some of the basic rules.

Its so nice that Josie is getting to an age where we can share more and more things with her. We took the opportunity to bring her to a game on Friday night (technically her second game if you count the first one, which we don't because she cried and demanded to leave after 30 minutes). While the Gophers unfortunately lost it was fun to see Josie enjoy the game and the crowd. Her big disappointment was not getting to give Goldy a hug so we definitely have to take her again next year.

There goes that camera bandit again!
