Josie's a big sister....

...but only for a day. Calm down people- no special announcement here. Josie is our only and likely will remain that way. We just wanted to share some photos from our day with Josie's friend Julia. I think Josie really enjoyed the opportunity to be a pretend big sister, especially since she got to send Julia back home at the end of the day.

The girls had a great time together and Julia is welcome back here anytime!

Christmas Magic

Uh oh! He forgot his glove and glasses!
Hoping Josie learns to cook like her Grandpa Tim
Yum!

Santa surprised Josie on Thursday night with some gifts for her play kitchen! How in the heck did he know we were celebrating then? Christopher must have told him! We also had plenty of snacks and presents so a good time was had by all.

The big man had to make a return trip because he forgot his glove and glasses here on Thursday so on Christmas morning Josie found our stockings full of presents. Luckily he remembered the princess toothpaste this time! Josie also enjoyed opening the gifts sent from Aunt Barb and Uncle Jack. Josie is still talking about what a "good wrapper person" her Aunt Barb is.

Look Mom! These came in the mail!
Josie loves books!
She's still using those feet like an extra set of hands!
Thank you for always thinking of us!
Success!

Tonight we round out the celebrations with the Weber side of the family. Looking forward to yummy ham and good company!

We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with your families. We are so thankful to have you in our lives and look forward to what the new year has in store!

Again? And so soon?

Ralph is back. He hasn't even been gone long enough for us to miss him. And the worst part of the whole deal is that we had to miss the day care Christmas party last night. Bummer! But Kari saved a piece of candy cane pie for Josie and all was well. Now we're just crossing our fingers that Ralph doesn't stick around to mess with any of the rest of us.

Josie and her bucket

I'll leave you with a funny Ralph story-

Josie: Mom, I'm sad I missed the party.
Me: I know honey, but we can't be around other people when we're that sick. Besides, you were throwing up a lot and it wouldn't have been fun to be at the party anyway.
Josie: Oh, don't worry mom. That last time I threw up was just for you. I wanted you to see what was in my tummy. I'm all done doing that now.

Ah, the joys of being a mom.

Ralph

There once was a sick bug named Ralph.
He was more annoying than the Elf on the Shelf.
He came in with a flurry and didn't leave in a hurry
So be sure to take care of yourself.

Here's to you Ralph. You win. Now go away.

Snow angel

Our little snow angel sure enjoyed shoveling! Think we can get her to run the snow blower?

Hopefully Brent gave her lessons for tomorrow's big snow!

Birthday wishes

With an upcoming birthday I thought I'd provide a wish list for your shopping pleasure. Sure, I'd like some new things to enjoy- an iTunes gift card, the new Alex Cross and Kay Scarpetta books, a four pack of Surly Furious, and dinner out just to name a few. But due to a recent fall on my bad knee I'd rather request the following:

Yep, I may be turning 32 but its an OLD 32. At least I have wonderful family and friends to support me when I fall when I need them.

A very merry unbirthday to you

Birthdays get pretty boring when you grow up. So to help combat Ted's transition to "upper twenties" (you round up now buddy!) we took him to the Minnesota-Wisconsin series last weekend.

Even though the Gophers were pitiful on Friday we enjoyed some interesting bargain hunting (for beer of all things) followed by some overtime hockey on Saturday. Happy early birthday Teddy!
Apparently Brent had too much beer during lunch, which is where the bargain hunting occurred. He ordered a pint and the waitress informed him that he could get another 40 ounces for only $1 more. Ted, never being one to turn down a good deal, followed suit with a pitcher of his own.

And a video for the band geek in all of us:

A dream is a wish your heart makes......

Day One: left Rochester with a very excited Josie at 5:30 AM. She was a gem on the flight and even got to hear her name over the loudspeaker when the pilot thanked her for the card she made him. Some swimming at the hotel followed by dinner at Hollywood Studios completed our first day.
Day two: Headed to the Magic Kingdom to meet some princesses. Saw Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Belle, Alice and White Rabbit, Tigger and Pooh, Mickey and Minnie, Pinocchio, Pluto, Daisy and the Fairy Godmother. Josie was so excited to get autographs. Also hit several rides and had lunch and snacks in the park. Back to the hotel for dinner and more swimming.
Day three: Oh my goodness- its time for breakfast in the castle! Josie was SO excited, and as it turned out, so were mom and dad. So-so food but awesome atmosphere and Josie had a blast meeting each princess and being waited on hand and foot. More rides through the the afternoon and then back to hotel for, you guessed it, more swimming. Skipped our dinner reservation chill by the pool longer and had pizza and desserts in our room before passing out for the night.

Day four: One of the hottest days so far as we headed to Epcot. Enjoyed a trip "around the world" with a stop in Germany for some Oktoberfest. Josie liked the Nemo rides but didn't care for much else. Met Donald in Mexico and had mickey ice cream treat #4 for the week. Any guesses what we did after Epcot? Yep- back to hotel for swimming but also got some laundry done too.

Day five: Fooled you this time- we swam in the morning instead! Hung out around the pool and hotel arcade until about 2. Turns out Josie isn't very good at skeeball- watch out Brent! Headed back to Magic Kingdom for rides and an early dinner and then surprised Josie by attending Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. It was a blast! Back to the room with a tired Josie at midnight.

Day six: Slept in a bit and headed to Animal Kingdom. Josie wasn't feeling the Disney magic today so it was a quick tour through the park and then a trip to Hollywood Studios for dinner and a shot at the Toy Story Mania ride. Loved the ride but it was a heck of a wait.

Day seven: Last day in the parks. Brent and Jo started the day with a 90 minute swim in 63 degree weather. Crazy Minnesotans! After a head trauma in the shower (see picture) we headed to Magic Kingdom for one last trip. Saw some parades, rode some rides and experienced the pain of the height requirements. Josie rode Thunder Mountain four times in a row 2 days ago but was suddenly too short to ride today. Luckily some ice cream proved to be a decent distraction and we finished the night with the Wishes fireworks display. Awesome!

Day eight: Time to go home. It was a wonderful trip and we all look forward to going again. Josie suggests going again when she is four- which gives us approximately 10 months to accommodate. Nice try kid!
