Well that excursion didn't go well! 753 bug bites in approximately 3 minutes so we were out of there. Off to find more after bite and hole up in the hotel for the afternoon.

Paul and Babe

Spent the morning at Paul Bunyan Land. Josie thought Babe was cute and she was surprised when Paul Bunyan called her by name. We enjoyed the rides and petting zoo but decided to hit the beach once the weather warmed up. Now Josie and Brent are trying to convince me that we should live on Gull Lake.

For tonight- dinner and time at the water park. Hopefully the weather won't close down the indoor/outdoor water slides again tonight. I can only handle so many laps around the lazy river without a margarita in my hand.

The wheels on the bus

Josie had a big day today!

Deposited $151 to her savings account (who knew her piggy bank was that full?!?!?!?)
Rode the city bus downtown

Visited a friend of mine after knee surgery
Went out for lunch

Headed to the library

Splashed in the fountain

Rode the bus back home

No wonder we all needed a nap this afternoon! Now to figure out how to rack up as much change as Josie has......

I love rock'n roll!

I won a chance to see a pre-showing of Rock of Ages on Tuesday night and of course had to bring my 80's loving-hair band worshiping-power ballad singing husband along!

This movie ROCKS! If you love the 80's. And if you have a good sense of humor and don't take the movie seriously. Because its cheesy....but a good kind of cheesy. Like cheesy potatoes. Or cheese whiz. Or something like that.

And its funny. Like watching a bunch of church ladies singing "Hit me with your best shot" in a church, with a picture of Tom Cruise in a thong at the altar. Or the conversation between two characters-
Her: I have to tell the truth. I'm a stripper.
Him: I'm in a boy band.
Her: You win.

And don't even get me started on the music. I could have sung along with every single song! And I probably would have if:
a. I would have gone to a happy hour prior to the movie
b. the movie theater weren't filled with people who went just because they won tickets rather than because they love the 80's
c. I would have been wearing my stone washed jeans, a Guess sweatshirt and Loves Baby's Soft perfume. And let's not forget that the big bangs and aqua net hairspray!

I think we'll be adding this to ~~Brent's~~ our collection of 80's movies: Dirty Dancing, Sixteen Candles, Pretty in Pink, The Breakfast Club and now Rock of Ages.
