Adult supervision

I'm always on the lookout for decent looking shoes that can still meet the demands of my knee. While something like this is incredibly practical for me...

Thanks SassShoes.com
...its not very fashionable. Sorry Grandma Alice- I remember you wearing these!

I tried on a pair of Dankso shoes last week but just wasn't ready to commit. This week my mom bought 2 pairs and let me borrow one to test them out.

Josie: "Mom- look at those fancy shoes you have on. I like them."
Me: "Thanks Josie. Hopefully they work out and I can buy a pair too."
Josie: "What will your boss think of those shoes? Will she be mad?"
Me: "Well, first of all I think they'll be OK. Second, my boss is on vacation so she won't see them anyway."
Josie: "She's on vacation? How do you even know what to do all day?"
Me: "We're all grown ups and can take care of ourselves. We all have plenty to do at work."
Josie: "Well, if your boss isn't there then why are you even going? I would skip."

Well said Josie, well said. Unfortunately work isn't like a college class where you can bail out if the professor is more than ten minutes late.

Judge Figgy

It's an icy and cold day- perfect for family game day! Figgy seems intent on making us follow the rules. Sure wish she'd quit swishing our pieces off the board when she disagrees with a move.

You brought what?!?

There's no Barbies allowed in the bar! Unless of course Josie is with you....

Don't worry, it was a family event. Promise!

I'm hilarious!

As I picked Josie up from school last week she started talking about how she only likes to have friends who make her laugh. She commented that some friends told good jokes, some told funny stories and some just did funny things. Then she pointed out that she'd be friends with herself because she's pretty funny too. Then she started giggling. And giggling. And giggling. I finally asked her what she was laughing at and should have known the response- "Me! I'm hilarious!".

T-E-D

T-E-D spells Ted. We hear this spelling frequently in our house.

Did T-E-D call?

Is T-E-D coming over for dinner?

I want to see T-E-D.

This soap smells like T-E-D.

T-E-D is my favorite.

T-E-D would really like this __________. We should get one for T-E-D.

And if she's not referencing T-E-D, we hear about F-I-G-G-Y which blows my theory of her not obsessing over me due to the number of letters it takes to spell M-O-M-M-Y.

And don't even bother pointing out that M-O-M is also a three letter word. I'll never be able to compete with T-E-D.
