All because of Kari's House

These girls have been friends almost their entire lives. We met through Kari's House.
Last night we had an impromptu pizza party after soccer practice followed by an hour of playing at the nearby park.

Love these girls!

While the little yahoos were playing the two nitwits below, along with Brent, sat and chatted. After about 30 minutes we realized we were the creepy parents who happened to be facing the direction of a boys soccer practice (shirts and skins, no less!) even though we were paying zero attention to them. Instead of moving we requested a growler of beer and for Jen to join us.
And of course she did (minus the growler)!

As we were gearing up to call the kids back over another set of friends joined us at the park.
Little Hannah just finished her time at Kari's House and has a soft spot for Josie. Another one of the Kari's House kids will be joining Hannah at her new daycare in another week. In the meantime the parents are planning a play date this weekend so the kids can see each other again.

If they end up anything like us, both the kids and parents are in the midst of making lifelong friends. All because of Kari's House

Caught! AGAIN!

Brent and I were sitting in the family room last night when we heard a light banging sound coming from the kitchen. After listening to it for a bit we both realized we should probably check it out.

Sure enough, there was Oz trying to get in the cupboard again.
This time he was after bagels since the marshmallows had been moved to a new location.

I guess we're back to barricading the cupboard.

At least the knives weren't scattered all over the counter and floor this time.

It was kind of alarming to walk into the kitchen and find death threats spelled out by knives last time they couldn't get in the cupboard......

Embarrassing

I tried to hold Josie's hand walking in to school today.

She told me I had to wait.

After we got around the corner and no windows were present she reached out for my hand.

Ten seconds later she let go again.

I guess I'll take what I can get.

Busted!

Josie caught the cats red-handed last night as they were trying to swipe the marshmallows again.

Instead of simply moving the marshmallows to a new location, Josie cat-trapped the cupboard.

The Invisible String

A very wise friend shared this book with me at just the right time.

I am forever grateful.

"That's impossible", said twins Jeremy & Liza after their Mom told them they're all connected by this thing called an Invisible String. "What kind of string"? They asked with a puzzled look to which Mom replied, "An Invisible String made of love." That's where the story begins. A story that teaches of the tie that really binds. The Invisible String reaches from heart to heart. Does everybody have an Invisible String? How far does it reach, anyway? Does it ever go away? "People who love each other are always connected by a very special String, made of love. Even though you can't see it with your eyes, you can feel it deep in your heart, and know that you are always connected to the ones you love."

My butt itches

We traveled to the cities for a mini spring break getaway. Rode some rides, pampered some American Girl dolls, and got picked on in a restaurant. They call it "service with sarcasm". The waitstaff was loud, the place was a mess and they picked on EVERYONE. Though she refused to keep her hat on Josie begged to go back for dinner.

Ewwy gooey

Apparently our cats like marshmallows. And have thumbs.

This is the SECOND time this has happened.

This bag was in the cupboard when we went to bed.

Someone managed to get the bag out of the cupboard and tear it open.

They only like to like the outer coating and leave the sticky middle part behind.

Its like an Easter egg hunt trying to find the marshmallows the next day.....

Just the beginning of a new story

Today is Josie's last day at Kari's House. While she's certainly spent plenty of non-Kari's House time there, this is the last of her time as one of Kari's House kids. She wrote a goodbye note to Kari....

Goodbye Kari by JOSIE.

Once upon a time there was a very nice woman named Kari. She loved her daughter & son. The daughter was named Heather the son was named Ted. Heather was marred to Brent Robert Weber. They had a daughter named Josephine Marie Weber. Ted on the other hand was not marred yet so Ted was happy on his own. Kari was doing a child care program she would only go to taking kids till school if Josephine came and she did. Years have passed and now Josephine was 9 almost 10 and Kari`s husband was diagnosed with pfb and she can't own two houses so she is selling her original house so her child care program will end. “So it`s been tuff but it`ll be worth it” Josephine said.” And so this is my last day here.” Say`s Josephine but this is just a beginning of a new story.

The end

Using technology to your advantage

Josie texted her dad:

I saw it and sent her one of my own:

Then she responded to both of us:

Now she's spelling out emojis and begging for things when we're not even together.......and this is just the beginning!

Worst St. Patrick's Day EVER

I woke up to a whining Josie today. She was disgusted that the leprechauns did not leave her any candy or presents in her leprechaun trap. All she got was stupid Christopher.

Setting the trap, complete with pipe cleaner ladder

Sign says "take please" and is attached to a gold necklace

"Stupid Christopher" was trapped

I, however, got some special St. Patrick's Day grub at work.
Irish stew, roll, shamrock cookie and Mtn Dew.

I think I should make sure I show Josie the picture of the cookie......
