That silly Christopher!

At some point last night that silly elf snuck into Josie's room and left her a birthday surprise. He's such a nice guy.

George, my main man

Some say he had wood teeth, some say they were made of walrus tusks or human teeth but either way poor George Washington had tooth troubles and I feel his pain.

An extraction with post placement turned into an extraction only, but all went well and I'm on the mend for a few days. After the bone heals I can hopefully move forward with the rest of the process in November.

Thanks to some modern medicine and a neighbor who kindly opens a can of Spaghetti O's when I show up on his doorstep at 9pm (in pajamas even!) I do believe I will survive.

Ready to enjoy Josie's birthday tomorrow! So glad she picked sore mouth friendly ice cream for dessert.

Soccer star

Josie competed 3 weeks of "Kindergarten Kicks" this week and seems to really enjoy playing. Or is it the socializing? Or is it in her blood from the prior two generations? Or the fact that everyone came to watch her at least once, including Uncle Ted?

No matter the reason, we're happy to have found a sport that she enjoys....for now. She has asked to play indoor this winter and outside again next spring.

And of course, it certainly helps that she scored a goal on her last night of soccer. This might let me talk her out of being a goalie like her mom.

Best brother ever!

Bad day, tough decisions, and a sleepless night ahead.

Eureka! I think this special delivery just made it all better!

Pirates!

Had a fun overnight trip to the cities with a gang of pirates. Checked out the Science Museum, saw sunken treasure from a pirate ship, stayed in a hotel and splashed at a water park. Good summer fun!

Hello? Can you hear me?

Pirate booty!

The girls liked the pirate

Lydia seemed to loooove the pirate

No room at the zoo. Too many people so we headed to the water park!

She blinded me with science

Run!

Good thing we're covered!

Then some great gifts, a movie and books before bed

Josie gave it a 10 out of 10 so I think the girls had a lot of fun. Still hard to believe my little girl is 6. Luckily I have another 12 days before I can't deny it any longer.

I love you Josie!
