The Civic War

Here is what I know to be true-

1. It happened in 1980
2. England was involved
3. There was a ship (but just one)
4. There was a guy and he was a prisoner
5. There was a flag
6. India was there
7. People were sick
8. People made their own state

It will be so fun relearning American history through Josie!

Just kick it

Josie has been enjoying her fall soccer season. She seems to participate quite a bit more and even scored her first goal!

Hard to believe I'm on the prep side of the halftime snack now!

Its that time again!

Time for what you ask? Why, its my mom's favorite day----her birthday! She marks it in big bold letters on the calendar every year and impatiently counts down the days until its time to celebrate.

Wait a second.....I'm describing Josie. You know, the girl with 4 parties and a month long celebration.

Mom much prefers to just let the day go by unnoticed. Too bad for her!

I now present: Kari through the years

And a special artist rendition from your one and only Josie!

I think I like you as the pink triangle best!

Happy birthday mom!
I love you!

First day of first grade

Josie was very excited to start school on Tuesday. It was almost as if she couldn't wait to say good-bye to us. And I can't wait until my first Friday off with her back in school. So there! We're all happy that school has started.

The little turkey came home upset that there was no homework on the first day. That's my girl!

Bring it on!

Meet the teacher- check!

Pick your desk- check!

Sign up for "Star of the Week"- check! (but this will have to wait a long time.....she chose the end of May!!)

Find your locker- check!

Label your school supplies- check x 148 (each and every crayon, marker, pencil and other item of first grade paraphernalia needed to be marked with her initials. Definitely brought out the OCD in me!)

Head off to first grade- almost!

Hard to believe I'll be waking up my little first grader tomorrow morning. She's definitely ready and excited for the new school year. Can't wait to hear all about her day over dinner tomorrow night.
